Job Summary:  

Assists in rendering architectural services across the full range including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding/negotiation and construction administration in support of and under the guidance of licensed architects. Work collaboratively with design team to develop concepts and create designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments.  Salary commensurate with experience and skills. SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

 

QPK Design is an award winning, multi-disciplinary firm of architects, interior designers, structural and geotechnical engineers, landscape architects and digital modeling & animation specialists.  We are looking for a senior architectural designer to join our existing design team.

Job Summary:  

Involvement in all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development and construction documents. Exceptional design and communication skills, a portfolio of innovative design concepts, and an emphasis on built work are desired. Interaction with clients while representing QPK Design at meetings and presentations. Work collaboratively with existing design team to develop concepts and create designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments. Active in presentation techniques to communicate design concepts to client and project team. Salary commensurate with experience and skills.

 

Essential Functions:           

- Close collaboration and communication with design teams, clients and consultants

-  Leading, developing and mentoring design teams within the office

-  Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients and with other key consultants

 

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:   

- High level of proficiency in Revit skills preferred; AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite

- Proficient in Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Deltek Vision and NewForma

- Strong graphic skills required

- Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies.

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong graphic presentation skills

- Leadership, management and mentoring skills

- Strong communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients

- A sense of business acumen to advise and guide clients as required

- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a positive attitude, strong work ethic

 

Education/Experience:       

- 10 to 15 years’ experience preferred, including proven track record of leading the design of mid to large-scale projects

- Advanced degree in Architecture preferred; College degree required.
