Rochester-Genese Regional Transportation Authority

MT. HOPE SATELLITE TRANSIT CENTER

The Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority retained. QPK Design to develop schematic and preliminary plans for the construction of a satellite transit station facility and related infrastructure and site improvements.

There are currently nine (9) bus routes carrying more than 1,400 people per day that would utilize a transit station at the College Town development. A previous study of transit infrastructure needs serving the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital identified the need for approximately eight (8) bus bays at the site. Beyond the space needed for buses, the study also envisioned an indoor waiting area with customer services and amenities and complimentary retail outlets. It is anticipated that the satellite transit center will be incorporated into the private mixed-use development.

In addition to the transit facility, a 750 car parking garage was envisioned above the facility.
