Fort Drum Chapel

Chapel Addition & Renovation

 

QPK Design is providing architectural design, comprehensive interior design and project design management services for a $7.6M design/ build contract for additions and renovations to the existing 24,000 SF Post Chapel. New construction will include an 8,493 SF, 400-seat worship center addition with Baptistery suite, sacristy and support spaces; and a 3,880 SF religious education addition housing classrooms, administrative offices and ancillary spaces. Renovations will convert the existing 4,760 SF worship center into a new Activity Center with 200-seat multi-purpose room, activity room, kitchen facilities and support spaces. 

 

The project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is slated for LEED® Silver certification. 

 

The building and site design will meet Antiterrorism/ Force Protection Standard UFC 04-010-01. Force protection measures will include appropriate standoff distances, envelope construction, mass notification system and perimeter barriers. 

 

Execution Method: Design/build project delivery using fast-track scheduling as part of a small business Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC).
