Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY - Cancer Center

Cancer Center

QPK Design provided complete A/E services for the design of the original 36,000 SF building (under contract with the Widewatters Group), and subsequent 24,000 SF addition and 1500 SF Cyberknife addition to the Hematology/Oncology Associates’ Cancer Center in East Syracuse NY.

This state of the art comprehensive cancer center offers outpatient treatments and support services including chemotherapy and radiation; ambulatory infusion; laboratory services; clinical research; a physician office pharmacy; and a boutique oriented towards minimizing the physical aspects of cancer. Facilities include examination rooms, laboratories, treatment and administrative offices. Treatment spaces include infusion center, radiotherapy and the area’s first “Cyberknife”.

Most recently, QPK provided services to replace the facility’s varian radiation therapy unit and the C.T. simulation unit. The new C.T. scanner is more powerful than the old one and required new lead shielding installed above the ceiling. Both units required new below slab trenches for power and data supplies.
