Syracuse Tech Garden

The Downtown Syracuse MONY Towers’ 5-story parking and retail building, built in 1967, partially collapsed due to structural failure.

The City had the parking levels demolished, leaving the ground floor retail portion intact. The one-story, 34,000 SF structure remained an eyesore occupying the plaza for 8 years until the City’s Chamber of Commerce commissioned QPK to adapt the structure to serve as a new business incubator center for start-up technology companies.

The program included tenant spaces in a variety of sizes, shared conference, seminar rooms, office services, lunch room, reception and common areas. The project required a new roof, replacement of the structure’s exterior envelope and complete interior fit-up.
