City of Poughkeepsie, Bus Transit Hub

The Transit Hub fosters and strengthens Poughkeepsie’s role as a regional transportation link serving a myriad of transportation users including local residents, professionals, students and tourists. On a constrained site, accommodating both vehicular and pedestrian movement, the facility provides four bus bays and staging for three additional buses. During design development, a bus maneuvering analysis was performed to establish facility configuration for safe and efficient operations. The project includes low maintenance site furnishings, bus shelters, landscaping and the incorporation of green infrastructure practices (including permeable pavements and rain gardens).
