Million Air, Aircraft Hangar Facility

Following our comprehensive feasibility study, the Owner was able to garner support from the City Planning Board and Syracuse Regional Airport Authority with additional investors for this private Design-Build aircraft hangar facility.

The facility provides a large hangar area for private aircraft storage with an adjacent aircraft maintenance space. The two-story office area includes a large public atrium entry, reception and relaxation areas with adjoining operations, flight planning, private offices, and public use amenities. Upper mezzanines and conference areas provides vistas overlooking the interior aircraft storage and exterior apron areas. While open, airy and thoughtfully designed, the interior office and public spaces maintains the required security controls necessary for airport building operations.

Site amenities include a grand passenger drop off and porte-cochere, surface parking for project owners, family and visitors as well as a private jet fueling facility and a private aircraft apron accessing an airport taxiway.

The design’s canted exterior metallic metal panel walls and dramatic cantilevered roofs provide the high-tech aesthetic desired by the owner. The extensive use of glass and translucent polycarbonate panels deliver an inviting, light-filled interior space.
