Virtual Reality Architectural Walkthrough at Genius NY Innovation Night 2024

QPK was excited to join Genius NY, CenterState CEO, and The Syracuse Tech Garden at Innovation Night 2024 hosted at the Syracuse Marriott Hotel last night.

Our new Tech Garden Expansion project was available to explore as Virtual Reality Architectural Walkthrough of our BIM model for guests to experience the 3D rendered building while it is still under construction.

There was a great turnout and throughout the event many people were able to view the spaces in the new building with immersive virtual reality technology.

QPK considers virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR respectively), as a powerful tool that helps our designers and clients "feel" the spaces we are collaborating to design before a single foundation wall is laid out on site. This helps immensely with decision making throughout early design phases and ensures the design intent and building function is on track with client expectations prior to the more detailed phases of an architectural project.

And let's face it... Virtual Reality is pretty cool!

An attendee at Innovation Night 2024 virtually walks around the BIM model for the Syracuse Tech Garden Expansion.

This attendee navigates the VR walkthrough while another guest is able to view his virtual reality experience as a 2D video.

This walkthrough is taking place before anyone can step foot in the finished building. This is the view of the Syracuse Tech Garden Expansion as of 10/29/2024 while Hueber-Breuer diligently works to close in the exterior before winter.
