Syracuse University, Institute for Veterans & Military Families

QPK Design provided a programming study and concept design for a new building to serve as an iconic structure housing the S.U. Institute for Veterans & Military Families. The architectural solution was to incorporate principles of universal design and consisted of administrative, multi-function/special events and gallery spaces.

The result was a play of simple geometries, glazing and metal panel systems working together to showcase the building’s purpose. The main accessible circulation route wrapped the building perimeter as a proud feature and dedication to the users of the building. The adjacent, existing Hoople Hall would be clad in a laser-screened and perforated metal panel system to complement the new corner building with its waving flag graphic.
